Curran Contracting was awarded the $16.9 million IDOT US Route 12 Overlay Project spanning 6.5 miles through Wauconda, Mundelein, Volo, Lakemoor and Fox Lake, improving roadway conditions and safety along a heavily traveled corridor.
As the General Contractor, Curran is responsible for resurfacing Route 12, constructing new shoulders with rumble strips, extending the Case Road turn lane and completing additional safety improvements along Route 176.
With work taking place alongside live traffic, Curran has maintained an aggressive schedule, including 24-hour operations at times, to keep the project moving while minimizing impacts to the traveling public.
The project is transforming a major regional route without bringing it to a standstill. The project showcases our ability to manage large-scale roadway improvements in active traffic environments while keeping people, equipment and the work itself moving along safely.
