Curran Supports Suicide Prevention through Community Engagement
At Curran Contracting and Curran Group, we believe in the power of community and the importance of addressing critical issues that affect us all. This year, we are proud to sponsor and actively participate in the 2nd annual DeKalb County Out Of The Darkness Walk, an event organized by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) in collaboration with the Northwestern Medicine Ben Gordon Center. This vital event will take place on September 14th at Hopkin’s Park in DeKalb, IL.
Why We Walk
Suicide is a pressing issue that affects countless lives and families. It is the 2nd leading cause of death for men who work in our industry. Mental health is a crucial issue that affects us all, and by supporting the Out Of The Darkness Walk, we hope to make a significant impact in our community and beyond.
Our goal this year is to raise $36,000 to support AFSP’s critical work, with all funds staying local to support mental health initiatives within our communities. The Out Of The Darkness Walk brings people together to support those affected by suicide, raise awareness about mental health issues, and show solidarity in the fight against suicide.
